Coding tools

Point any OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible coding tool at Vichar.

Most coding assistants let you set a custom provider:

  • OpenAI-compatible tools: set the base URL to https://api.vichar.io/v1 and the API key to your vichar_* key, then pick a vichar-* model (for example vichar-sonnet-5.5). This covers tools such as OpenCode, Cline, Continue, and similar editors/agents that expose a custom OpenAI provider.
  • Anthropic-compatible tools: set the base URL to https://api.vichar.io (no /v1 suffix) and use the same key; requests go through /v1/messages.

Many tools send a session header so requests stick to the same provider when possible, improving cache hits. See Routing and failover.
